Baptisms, Weddings,Funerals and Registers

Baptisms usually take place on the third Sunday of the month at 12.00 noon. Other dates can be available by arrangement.
Weddings take place throughout the year except in the season of Lent. If you wish to marry in a Parish Church there are certain criteria which you must fulfil in order to comply with Marriage Law. The Banns system, Common Licence or a Superintendent Registrar’s; Certificate having been obtained will usually suffice. In some cases a Qualifying Connection may need to be proved. Funerals are usually arranged directly by Funeral Directors. The clergy are available to advise on any such arrangements and to offer support and counselling to the dying or bereaved.
Church yard registers contain the names and date and location of those buried at St Stephens from about the year 1890 to the present day. Searches of the registers, for which a fee is payable, can be made by appointment.
Other than registers in current use all records are lodged with Cornwall County Record Office in Truro to whom application to view should be made.
